William and Gloria Jensen, longtime residents of Audubon, are the founders of Luke’s Place, a unique nonprofit organization devoted to serving the adult special needs community. Since 2018, Luke’s Place – named for the Jensen’s own son, Luke – has provided social, athletic, and volunteer opportunities to our community’s growing population of residents who age out of public education services once they turn 21. Programming and activities available through Luke’s Place are focused on ensuring that special needs adults are able to live successfully and purposefully as full members of society. Weekly activities and events include everyday social activities such as participating in dance and workout classes, volunteer opportunities, and much more. William and Gloria are also volunteer coaches of the Luke’s Place Special Olympics teams for basketball, bowling, and cornhole. They both strive to make the special needs adults of South Jersey feel complete and included, while making happy memories that last a lifetime.
