A powerful storm system is set to track through the region tonight into Saturday, bringing with it heavy rainfall and the threat for flooding. Overall, a general 1.50-2.50 inches of rain is expected, with the heaviest amounts to the south in Gloucester County. The height of the storm mainly occurs during the overnight hours with the heaviest and steadiest rainfall exiting within a few hours after sunrise Saturday. The greatest impacts will be flooding issues due to heavy rain falling over areas that have seen above average rainfall over the past month. Areas of roadway and poor drainage flooding is the most likely to occur, while stream/creek flooding will also have to be monitored. The good news though is that this system is looking much more progressive, with conditions gradually improving through the day on Saturday.
