New Jersey’s Interagency Council on Climate Resilience (IAC) has developed a Statewide Climate Change Resilience Strategy to focus on state agency efforts to address increasing extreme heat events resulting from climate change, such as those experienced during the summer of 2022, as New Jersey is one of the fastestwarming states in the country (and the fastest in the Northeast). Previously, the IAC hosted an online Extreme Heat webinar to discuss this topic more thoroughly. You can view the recording and find additional information here.
New Jersey’s firstResilience Action Plan, will be released this spring.
As we gear up to release the Extreme Heat RAP, we want to ensure that we consider the needs of those vulnerable to extreme heat. To achieve this, we have created the NJ Extreme Heat Resilience Action Plan survey, which will enable us to better understand the priorities, concerns, needs, and wants of affected populations in reducing the impacts of extreme heat. We would like to hear from you so that we can gather valuable input from those most affected.
