What is a DRCC?

A Disaster Response Crisis Counselor (DRCC) is a volunteer who works alongside local and state emergency response partners to respond to the needs of communities during disaster situations. DRCC’s are trained in disaster response, disaster behavioral health and crisis counseling. Clinical mental health experience is not required.

Join first responders at emergency shelters and reunification centers after hurricanes, fires, public or mass shootings or terroristic events. You’ll help connect those in need with higher levels of care and available resources.
