The Camden County Department of Corrections Reentry Community Engagement Committee has a customized, Reentry Peer Specialist opportunity available for previously incarcerated individuals residing in Camden County. Camden County’s Peer Reentry Specialist program includes a team of NuEntry Opportunity Specialists (NOS) is rooted in the philosophy that people learn best from those who have “been there.” In this spirit, Camden County will be offering a variety of forums and opportunities specifically designed to meet the needs of our reentry population. The NOS team provides guidance, support, and assistance to individuals that have been formerly incarcerated in Camden County. Assistance and support with accessing and navigating resources available in Camden County. The NOS team is trained in Community Engagement best practices that incorporate the goals of becoming a credible messenger to their peers. NOS serves as community liaisons and provide direction and encouragement to formerly incarcerated individuals navigating life by helping them problem solve, cope with stress, and connect to community partners and resources such as employment, housing, health and wellness, and social services. The NOS team will also play a key leadership role in the facilitation of group discussions, training, and orientations for Camden County’s population.
