On October 2nd, the Camden County Recovery Community gathered at the Camden County Boathouse for an Appreciation Banquet to celebrate the strength, resilience, and spirit of participants in the R.E.A.L. Sports programs. With 100 RSVPs from various sober living houses, the event created a warm and supportive atmosphere, showcasing the bonds forged through shared experiences.
Attendees included participants of the R.E.A.L. Sports and Activities program from sober living houses throughout Camden County, Commissioner Director Cappelli, Commissioner Betteridge, members of the Camden County Addiction Awareness Task Force, and dedicated volunteer Dominic Vesper Sr. Each participant was honored with a sweatshirt and a certificate of participation, acknowledging their commitment to their recovery journey, all enjoyed over a delicious meal that fostered connection and camaraderie.
A special moment of recognition was dedicated to Dominic Vesper Sr. for his impactful volunteer work in the Bocce program. Acting as a mentor and grandfather figure, he has provided invaluable support and guidance, helping many feel a true sense of belonging within the community.
