(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the county Department of Public Works, has been notified by the Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) that crews will be repairing a gas main on Newton Avenue in Camden beginning on Monday, Jan. 28. During this time, Newton Avenue will be partially and fully closed in different locations.
“Given that this project involves multiple closures in differing locations, it is extra important that residents and motorists are aware of how construction will affect their route- please remember to allow yourself extra time to reach your destination,” Shin Angulo said. “Anytime a project requires the closure of a roadway you can expect sudden stops, shifting traffic patterns, and other changing conditions in the area surrounding construction. Motorists should be extra careful when approaching and driving through the construction area.”
From the hours of 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. crews will close the northbound lanes of Newton Avenue between South 11th and South 10thStreets. Simultaneously, crews will be completely closing Newton Avenue between South 10th Street and Haddon Avenue.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of work hours on Monday, Jan. 28. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
