Lisa Evans Lewis is a lawyer that has dedicated her life to leadership, justice, and community empowerment. For over 30 years Lisa has served the indigent in criminal matters, worked to educate, support, and enrich our youth, and worked with statewide organizations to preserve our environment. While providing zealous representation to her clients in state and federal court, Lisa focused on the youth of the Camden County community while serving as a Trustee with the Camden County Bar Association and committee member of the Camden County Bar Foundation where she developed programs that taught middle school students in Lawnside our legal systems. The program was a great success and culminated with a mock trial at the Camden County courthouse before two sitting Camden County judges. Lisa continued her community impact by serving as the Chair of the Board of After School All Stars Philadelphia Camden where she worked with other community leaders and educators to enhance educational and enrichment opportunities for middle school students. Lisa also demonstrated her profound commitment to the environment by serving on the Board of Trustees the New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
In 2018 Lisa joined the Advisory Board of what became the Volunteer Up Legal Clinic. While on the Volunteer Up Advisory Board, Lisa served on the executive committee that navigated multiple organizational changes, ultimately resulting in the clinic becoming an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2022. As a founding board member, Lisa was instrumental in overseeing the clinic’s growth and impact as it assisted more than 400 clients including clients that benefited from expungement clinics, representation in landlord tenant court, as well as a myriad of other matters to assist reentering citizens and other community members in need of legal services.
While practicing law and serving her community, Lisa returned to school and obtained a Certificate in Nonprofit Administration from University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute of Government as well as a Certificate in Board Governance from Fels in conjunction with DiverseForce. Lisa obtained a bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University and a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law.
