(Voorhees, NJ) – As part of a major, $4.3 million renovation of Haddonfield-Berlin Road (CR 561), crews will be completing paving of inside lanes this week between I-295 and Kresson Road in Cherry Hill. As a result, motorists attempting to enter and exit the Brookfield neighborhood of Cherry Hill will be limited to right turns only today and tomorrow.
“This is a major project that will significantly improve the drivability of the roadway and ease the flow of traffic in several locations,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “We thank the public for its patience as the upgrades interrupt some routes and commutes. As always, we want to remind motorists to be extra vigilant when driving near crews and construction vehicles.”
Traffic remains open in both directions of the roadway, however paving of the inside lanes will restrict the ability of motorists to cross from one side of the roadway to the other. Motorists attempting to make a left turn onto Haddonfield-Berlin Road from Tavistock Road to Ashbrook Road will instead be directed to turn right and make a U-turn beyond the location of crews and equipment.
Motorists traveling towards Haddonfield and attempting to turn left between Ashbrook Road and Tavistock Road will also be directed to continue beyond the location of crews in order to make a U-turn and access the other side of the roadway.
Paving on the inside lanes of the roadway is expected to be completed by the end of work hours on Thursday, Aug. 29. Timing is dependent on weather and is subject to change.
