On Thursday, the Board of Commissioners hosted the Camden County Alzheimer’s Caregiver Symposium in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, Rowan-Virtua New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging, and Senior Citizens United Community Services, Inc. The event covered a range of topics including the foundations of caregiving, managing stress, caregiver advocacy, the benefits of respite care and more.
“Stepping into a caregiving position for someone suffering with Alzheimer’s can feel incredibly overwhelming and isolating,” Commissioner Melinda Kane said. “But through community events such as the Caregiver’s Symposium, it is our hope to offer some guidance and support to caregivers across Camden County and the region.”
