(Camden, NJ) On Friday, April 19, Commissioners Al Dyer and Melinda Kane attended a celebration for the Cambodian New Year with members of the community and the Samaki Dhararam Buddhist Temple. The celebrations featured traditional Cambodian music, dance and food.
“We are excited to join the Cambodian community for this wonderful celebration,” Commissioner Al Dyer said. “It is always an honor to be invited to special cultural events here in our county and we cannot wait to kick off the Cambodian New Year festivities this Friday.”
Cambodian New Year, also known as Khmer New Year, is the traditional celebration of the solar new year.
