Cindy Shawana Mc Coy is a native of the city of Camden. A mother, sister, daughter, mentor, friend, and a dedicated public servant. She spends time helping others in and around Camden County, New Jersey. She is an individual who exemplifies a level of selflessness and courage to continuously devote acts of kindness for the betterment of her community and those around her.
She currently resides in Hi-Nella, New Jersey, a small town, which immediately grasped her attention to get involved within the community. The elected official, so far 6 years in as Council member, 2 years on County Committee member and 6 months as the Municipal Chair. She enjoys her dedication to public service and getting to know the residents of Hi-Nella. She has helped and served in her community in so many ways, garbage pickup, clean parks, potholes, cyber security insurance and road signs.
In addition, Cindy’s service as an elected official, she also serves as the Chair of the Women’s Caucus group for the Democratic Committee. Under her leadership she is the voice for the voiceless. A caucus group, which speaks on issues of healthcare disparities, women, voting rights, women in politics and law, promoting equality to help shape agendas and raise awareness, between government and civil society in Camden County. She also enjoys volunteering her time to donate toys to senior citizens in dire need and raising their grandchildren, which entails adopting a family toy drive. Under her leadership, she tirelessly enjoys bringing forth a positive impact and change to women and senior citizens. While during her leisure time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She has one
son, Almier, a recent graduate of Rutgers University.
