Adelaida (Addie) Rivera Colon was born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico. As a young child she was relocated with her mother Luz M Calderon and her five siblings from Puerto Rico to Reading PA. Adelaida was raised by her single mother who raised six children, Adelaida the youngest of five sisters and one brother. Her mother Luz M Calderon was her biggest supporter and believed in her  success.

Today, Adelaida is married to her loving husband Dennis Colon, both achieving great careers and partnered to raise a family together. Adelaida is a proud mother of two fine young men, Dennis Colon Jr., and Dalton A. Colon with an extended family of two daughter in law’s Jessica Colon and Angelique Delgado, following four beautiful granddaughters, Yasmin, Aliyah, Genevieve, and Naomi. Adelaida was a successful candidate for the work study program in high school, achieving several Business Management courses graduating from Reading Senior High School in 1985. Adelaida entered into the work force as an Associate Accountant Yeager Supply in Reading Pa. She successfully managed the company’s accounting department for world leading plumbing products.

In 1988, Adelaida pursued a new career at Metropolitan Edison in Reading PA. Metropolitan Edison (Met-Ed) was one of largest electric utilities in Berks County. While working at Met-Ed, Adelaida attended Reading Area Community College and later transferred to Albright College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2004. Addie’s education and raising a family has been her drive to succeed in her career. As her mother’s always told her, she was born a leader aspiring to grow to help others. Her passion is to help all those in need that struggle financially and are deprived of educational opportunities. At Met-Ed she achieved many positions in Customer Service, Energy Services, Clean Energy, Net Metering, System Developer, Marketing, Accounting, Accounts Receivable/Payable, Commercial Consultant, Senior Commercial Consultant, Work Force Development, Supervisor/Manager in Customer Service Center later promoted to an Area Manager in New Jersey.

In 2008, Adelaida entered a master’s program at Alvernia University, achieving a master’s degree in Economic Development and Community Initiatives. She graduated from Alvernia University in 2010 with honors. In 2012, Adelaida was promoted as an External Affairs Manager for Jersey Central Power & Light/First Energy where she relocated to North Jersey supporting and leading the company’s vision for utility improvement, relationship building, supporting reliability, and supporting local elective officials. In 2017, she was hired by PSE&G as a Regional Public Affairs Manager leading into managing Camden and Gloucester counties supporting local Government.

Throughout her entire career, Adelaida has been a board member, volunteer, and supporter for many nonprofit organizations such as March of Dimes, United Way, NJ chambers, Salvation Army, Shelters, Camden Food Panty, Cancer organizations, etc. She remains active with volunteer efforts and supports those in need. She is currently a member of the South New Jersey Development Council.

Today, she remains employed by PSE&G, a leading utility in New Jersey, now successfully managing her role as a Regional Public Affairs Manager in Camden and Gloucester Counties. She is a supporter of economic development for local entities while promoting educational resources for the utility industry. She leads with integrity by helping many constituents supporting the company’s vision to empower and educate the lives of our customers, our communities, our workforce and supporting our stakeholders.
