(Lindenwold, NJ) – This week, NJ American Water broke ground on a $1.2 million project that will replace one mile of aging pipes to help improve water service reliability and increase water flow.
Work is being done along West Kings Highway, from West Atlantic Avenue to Hillside Avenue. The pipe work is set to be completed in November, weather permitting, and work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full road restoration should be completed by summer of 2024.
“This is a crucial project that will increase the safety and reliability of our residents water sources,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “The project shouldn’t create any major traffic interruptions but as always, we will keep our residents informed if any road or lane closures are planned.”
The project also includes the installation of meter pits at the curb area where none currently exist. Property owners will be contacted by NJ American Water to set up an appointment to move their meter from inside their property to the outdoor meter pit.
