(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 47 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 7,840 in Camden County today and 464 total fatalities.
“With cases of COVID-19 increasing across the country, and even slightly here in New Jersey, we must remain extra vigilant this holiday weekend to keep one another safe,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Whether you’re celebrating at home, outdoors, or in public, please remember to observe all public health guidelines this 4th of July weekend. That means wearing a mask whenever you’re in public, maintaining six feet of separation from others, and practicing good hand hygiene to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We have to be realistic, if we take our eyes off the ball, this virus will resurge in our community and our daily rate of new cases and hospitalizations will increase. If we stick to these simple steps, we will continue to enjoy the reopening of our economy and we will save lives in the process.”
The Department of Health is announcing 47 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing. Please note that due to the July 4th holiday, new cases will not be announced tomorrow, July 3. All cases from July 3 to July 5 will be announced on Monday, July 6.
In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 1,307 confirmed resident cases and 475 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 7,840 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 301 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as three staff deaths, out of our 464 total fatalities countywide.
