The 6th Annual Green Garden Fair, presented by the Camden County Board of Freeholders and the Camden County Office of Sustainability, took place on Saturday, April 27. The Green Garden Fair brings a full day of fun to enthusiasts from throughout the area, including gardening workshops, tours of the educational garden, and free cooking demonstrations and tastings.
The Green Garden Fair represents an unofficial start to gardening season and all of the wonderful opportunities for growing and learning that come with it,” said Freeholder Jonathan Young, liaison to the Camden County Office of Sustainability. “In addition to workshops and activities we will also have professionals offering tips on organic and sustainable gardening, activities for kids and families, and beautiful plants grown by a team of Rutgers’ Master Gardeners available for purchase.”
This year’s Green Garden Fair also hosted special guest Doug Tallamy, noted author of “Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens.” Tallamy gave free presentations to guests focused on how to increase our use of native plans.
