VOORHEES
– Camden County Clerk Jim Beach drew the names of 240 World
War II veterans from a rotating container on Friday morning and
announced each would receive a $50 card to fill gas tanks at a filling
station in Haddonfield on Aug. 28.
The
gas card promotion was made possible through the generous sponsorship
of three local businesses – Somerdale-based AllRisk Property
Damage Restoration Co., for $10,000, and Voorhees-based Bowman and
Co., and Proof Production of Glassboro, $1,000 each. The effort
was coordinated by the Camden County Office of Veterans Affairs.
About
100 of the approximately 1,200 entrants in the raffle were on hand
for the drawing at Boscov’s Court, near the Camden County
Store, in the Echelon Mall. A representative from AllRisk joined
the clerk in announcing the winners of the drawing.
Beach
said the cards are redeemable at the Sunoco station on Haddon Avenue
in Haddonfield.
