Assembly Speaker Joe Roberts to Swear In Ian Leonard as Freeholder

WHAT: Ian Leonard, 32, of Camden will be sworn in as a member of the Camden County Board of Freeholders by his mentor and friend, Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts Jr. The ceremony will take place on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Camden County Boat House.

One of the youngest Freeholders in New Jersey, Leonard replaces Joseph Ripa on the seven-member governing body after Ripa was sworn in as Camden County Clerk on June 3 by Gov. Jon Corzine. Leonard works full time as Roberts’ chief of staff in the assemblyman’s office in Brooklawn. He is a member of the Air National Guard and holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Rutgers University in Camden.
