Worn Out Electronic Gear
For Immediate Release: April 15, 2009
Contacts: KEN SHUTTLEWORTH
Worn
out computers, scanners, DVD players, telephones, radios and other
electronic items that threaten the environment will be safely collected
on Saturday, April 18, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Camden
County Public Works Complex, 2311 Egg Harbor Road, in Lindenwold.
“This
collection effort keeps dangerous materials such as lead, mercury,
cadmium and chromium from being released into the environment,”
said Freeholder Jeffrey L. Nash, liaison to the Camden County Division
of Environmental Affairs.
Nash
said Saturday’s collection is one of several dates scheduled
this year for recycling of electronic equipment or hazardous household
waste. “Details are available on www.camdencounty.com
or by calling (856) 858-5241,” Nash said.
