FREEHOLDER DIRECTOR CAPPELLI PLEDGES 2009 BUDGET THAT HOLDS LINE
ON TAXES

WHAT: Freeholder
Director Louis Cappelli Jr. pledges a 2009 budget that will not
increase property taxes as he takes the oath of office for a fourth
one-year term as director of the seven-member board. His comments,
after taking the oath of office, will also focus on a projected
shortfall of $13 million and the board’s direction to county
administrators to find ways to implement the no-new-taxes commitment.
In addition to being sworn in as director, Cappelli
also will take the oath to serve his third three-year term on the
board after his reelection, along with Freeholder Riletta Cream,
in November. State Sen. Dana Redd, a former aide to Freeholder Cream,
will swear in Ms. Cream and Assemblyman Louis Greenwald (D-Camden
County) will administer the oath of office to Freeholder Edward
T. McDonnell for another one-year term as deputy director.
