Outreach Program
The Surrogate's Outreach Program provides services and educational
programs in the following areas, free of charge:

Conduct lectures about the Office of the Surrogate and its functions
and programs.
- Provide
speakers for the organizations and civic groups about wills and
other important legal documents.
- Issue
public alerts and warnings regarding matters related to the Office
of the Surrogate.
- Provide
workshops on Advance Directive for Health Care (Living Will) preparation
for civic, church, community and service organizations.
- In
conjunction with the Division of Senior Legal Services and South
Jersey Regional Legal Services conduct monthly Senior Citizen
Workshops enabling Camden County residents aged 60 and over to
acquire at no cost a Last Will and Testament, a NJ Advance Directive
for Health Care (Living Will) and a Power of Attorney.
- In
conjunction with the Department of Public Safety conduct Public
Safety Legal Workshops enabling Camden County residents who serve
as Police, Firefighters or EMTS to acquire Last Wills & Testaments,
Advance Directive for Health Care (Living Will) and Power of Attorney.
- Distribute
free informational literature in English and Spanish.
- Provide
at home Surrogate services for people who are ill or homebound.
- Maintain
communications and interaction with senior citizen clubs and other
community and civic organizations.
- Schedule
activities, programs and special events.
Weddings:
As
Judge of the Surrogate's Court; New Jersey Surrogates have the authority
to perform marriage ceremonies. There is no fee for this service
and the Surrogate may travel to any location in New Jersey or simply
remain in the Surrogate's office, which many prefer.
