COUNTY JOINS FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL WARNING

Back in April, the Camden County Board of Freeholders adopted a resolution in support of the U.S. Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement. In the months that followed, our Camden County Green Initiative was born. This Initiative, designed to reduce carbon emissions resulting from County operations, is based on the twelve objectives identified in the Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement. It identifies those tasks already completed, those underway, and those to be undertaken, to reduce the effects of County operations on the environment, particularly with respect to the production of Greenhouse Gases.

“With the passage of the resolution supporting the U.S. Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement, and the development of the County Green Initiative, Camden County is making a statement that we want to be a leader in the fight against global warming and climate change,” said Freeholder Jeffrey Nash. “We are hopeful our municipal governing bodies and county-based businesses will follow our lead.”
