1. WasteWater/Sewage Treatment

Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority

In 1972, the Camden County Board of Freeholders created the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority to meet water quality protection requirements. The CCMUA has the responsibility and the sole authority to plan for and treat wastewater within Camden County as required by the Federal Clean Water Act.

2. Solid Waste (trash) Disposal

Pollution Control Financing Authority of Camden County

The Freeholders have delegated responsibility for trash disposal to the PCFACC. The PCFACC operates the Pennsauken Sanitary Landfill and oversees operation of the Camden Resource Recovery Facility. These two facilities combined handle over 450,000 tons of refuse generated in the County each year.

3. Recycling

Camden County Division of Environmental Affairs

The Div of Environmental Affairs manages the county's Recycling and Solid Waste Management Plans and coordinates the efforts of the municipal recycling programs. In addition it provides service related to Household Special Waste Collections, rechargeable battery recycling, Litter Clean-Up, and Watershed Protection
