YEMMALLO, DOMINICK

Age 91 years. Loving husband for 64 years of Jane (Pizano) and father of Donna (Dr. William) Meidt of Temp, AZ and Maria (George) Baker of Brentwood, TN, died after a short illness on July 19, 2006 in Chandler, AZ where he had resided since February 2003.
Born August 12, 1914 in Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy to Marianna (Siciliano) and Giuesppe (Yemmallo) emigrated to Camden, NJ in 1930. He worked as a shoemaker until he entered the US Army on February 25, 1942 and was discharged October 7, 1945. He operated his own shoe repair shop at 424 N. Third St. in Camden, NJ from 1947 until 1958 and at 118 Haddon Ave. in Collingswood, NJ from 1958 until 1993. He also worked at Campbell Soup Company in Camden, NJ from 1945 until 1977. He is also survived by5 granddaughters: Andrea (Thomas) Pedersen of Gilbert, AZ, Rachel (Richard) Lambert and Dr. Constance (Michael) Tucker all of Tempe, AZ, Meredith (Joseph) Bucher of Memphis, TN and Diana Baker of Nashville, TN also known as Grandpop Mickey to five great-grandchildren: Laurel and Jeffrrey Lambert; Christopher and Sophia Pedersen, and Matthew Tucker, many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of life-long friends.
A Roman Catholic funeral was handled through Tempe Mortuary in Tempe, AZ with burial at 1 pm at July 21, 2006 at National Memorial Cemetery in Pheonix, AZ.
