Department of Children’s Services

 As the child care resource and referral agency for Camden County, the Department of Children’s Services is responsible for coordinating child care services, resources, and professional development within the 37 county municipalities. Since 1971, the office has operated under the administration of the Board of Commissioners and is funded by the NJ Department of Human Services, Division of Family Development.

It is our mission to promote and support high quality child care that is affordable and accessible to all families seeking care in Camden County. Our services are free and confidential. 

Our DCS staff is here to: 

• Provide information on how to apply for the New Jersey Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).
• Provide referrals to assist you in locating a child care program that meets the needs of your family. 
• Offer Professional Development opportunities and technical assistance to licensed and registered child care providers and their staff.
• Support businesses and municipalities looking to increase child care options for employees and residents.
• Collaborate with state and local agencies working to meet the needs of families and children.
